Biffa wins big at National Recycling Awards 2024
We are thrilled to announce that Biffa has won in two categories at the prestigious 2024 National Recycling Awards. Our commitment to sustainability and innovation has been recognised with wins in the Partnership Excellence - Private/Public Sector category for our collaboration with Border Force, and our outstanding Cornwall Municipal team has won the Team of the Year award for their work in the community.
Partnership Excellence - Private/Public Sector with Border Force
Our partnership with Border Force has been instrumental in tackling difficult waste streams that is challenging across the sector. Together, we have revolutionised the disposal process by developing an innovative approach to recycle hard-to-recycle materials while also diverting hazardous waste from landfill. This recognition highlights the success of our joint efforts in advancing sustainable recycling solutions and promoting environmental progress.
Team of the Year: Cornwall Municipal team
Three members of the Cornwall Municipal team, Mark Hendra, Brent Cox, and Dave Anderton, have been recognised for their exceptional dedication to supporting the local community in Truro. The team has consistently achieved a 100% score in independent audits and has maintained an excellent level of service for households in the area. Beyond their exemplary waste collection services, they frequently go above and beyond to help local residents. From assisting elderly residents to managing community litter picks and donating of waste materials to a local art group, their actions are making a tangible difference.
Organised by trade magazine Materials Recycling World and billed as “the largest and most esteemed award ceremony in the recycling and resource management sector”, the National Recycling Awards attract an audience of over 500 industry leaders. The winners were announced on November 26 at the Hilton Metropole London.
