‘Our Sustainable Growth Strategy - 'Resourceful, Responsible 2.0’

Resourceful, Responsible 2.0 marks the next phase in our sustainability journey, building on the foundations established in 2020.
Following a five-year review, we have refined our priorities, sharpened our focus and introduced new ambitions.

Integrating sustainability at the heart of our business, the strategy sets out a unified approach, aligning our commercial and environmental goals to create long-term value and deliver lasting impact for our customers, communities and the environment.

Built around three strategic pillars

We have set clear ambitions where we can have the greatest impact. These are underpinned by defined targets for 2030, each aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Safe and thriving people and communities
Create a safe, inclusive, equal opportunities workplace, supporting colleagues and communities to thrive and be more sustainable.
Efficient and sustainable operations
Reduce emissions by optimising environmental and operational performance, as well as managing biodiversity, to achieve Net Zero by 2050, while positioning to accelerate delivery as opportunities arise.
Circular economy products and services for our customers
Help customers to move more materials further up the waste hierarchy, with circular economy services and products, reducing emissions and creating shared value.

Our Sustainable Growth Strategy reflects a simple truth - sustainability for the environment and society must also make good business sense if it is to be sustainable and scalable. By aligning environmental, social and economic priorities, we can build a stronger, more resilient Biffa that continues to deliver long-term value for our customers, investors, and communities.
